HALOGEN GLOBES
FAQ
What is Halogen Globe?
A Halogen Globe, is an incandescent globe that has a small amount of a halogen. The combination of the halogen gas and the tungsten filament produces a halogen cycle chemical reaction which redeposits evaporated tungsten back onto the filament, increasing its life and maintaining the clarity of the envelope.
Is a Halogen Globe Energy Efficient?
Halogen Globes saves up to 30% of energy, compared to a incandescent globe.
Where can I use Halogen Globes?
All halogen globes can be used as a direct replacement of incandescent globes.
Are they dimmable?
All Halogen globes and incandescent globes are fully dimmable.
Are they safe to use?
Halogen lamps get hotter than regular incandescent lamps because the heat is concentrated on a smaller envelope surface, and because the surface is closer to the filament. This high temperature is essential to their operation. Because the halogen lamp operates at very high temperatures, it can pose fire and burn hazards. If installed properly the globe is very safe to use.
